Liturgical Music Sharing

Presenter(s): Elaine Moise (Keddem Congregation)
Time: Shabbat morning

Creativity is a core value of Reconstructionism. We share the Kol HaNeshamah siddur, and yet we each bring our own unique musical styles to our services.

Bring music to share that is unique and special to your community, and we'll learn from each other! Let's explore musically each community's celebration of Shabbat, other holidays and our Peoplehood connection to Israel, expressed through the talents of each of us.

Come ready to inspire and be inspired! (Bring sheet music if you can, so we can all take home the gifts each community brings.)

Elaine Moise is a founder and past president of Keddem Congregation in Palo Alto, CA, and a founding steering committee member of Harmoniyah: the Reconstructionist Music Network. She has been a musician for as long as she can remember, even though, to her continued surprise, she makes a living working with financial systems. She has written numerous songs and other liturgy, and frequently leads services at Keddem. Elaine also sings and plays percussion for The Klezmakers, a really fine klezmer band that practices in her garage.
