Time: Shabbat lunch and learn
Through shared text study and reflection, we will explore our experiences, beliefs and understandings about healing. What do we want when we pray for healing? What do we believe is possible or not possible? How do we know when healing has happened? How Reconstructionist are our perspectives?
Rabbi Natan Fenner serves on the rabbinic staff of the Bay Area Jewish Healing Center (BAJHC) in San Francisco, and is an active member of Or Zarua (Reconstructionist Havurah of the East Bay). Rabbi Fenner is a board-certified member of the National Association of Jewish Chaplains, and he is part of the Senior Resource Faculty of the National Center for Jewish Healing. He is also an Advisory Council member for Hiddur: The Center for Aging and Judaism. He coordinates BAJHC’s bi-weekly “Torah Reflections” for hospital patients, visitors, and professional colleagues across North America (http://www.jewishhealingcenter.org/bajhc-Reflections.htm).
Rabbi Fenner received his certificate of Rabbinic Specialization in Geriatric Chaplaincy when he graduated from RRC in 1997.
