Kumsitz

Kumsitz/Talent Show

What’s a Kumsitz you may ask?

The JRF Kumsitz tradition began at the 2006 Convention, when it was led magnificently by Harmoniyah, the Reconstructionist Musicians' Network. A Kumsitz is a gathering of musicians, storytellers, dancers, poets, etc., who share their talent for the sheer pleasure and joy of those listening.

In keeping with this creative Reconstructionist tradition, we're having one at our Western Regional Gathering.

Are you interested in being considered to perform Saturday night, preferably with others from your community, at the Kumsitz/Talent Show? Each act can be up to 5 minutes. We will select acts that best feature the unique gifts of as many different communities within the region as possible.

Tell us what you’d like to do (e.g. sing, tell a story, dance, etc.) and who else will be joining you when you register, or else contact Regional Director, Devorah Servi, directly at 323-933-7491 or dservi@jrf.org.
