Congregation Beth Am of San Antonio Texas is a Reconstructionist synagogue affiliated with the Jewish Reconstructionist Federation. The synagogue is a spiritual home and egalitarian Jewish community that welcomes individuals of all ages and backgrounds to grow, learn, and participate
in the richness of Jewish life. We celebrate Shabbat morning Torah services, Friday evening Kabbalat Shabbat services. Beth Am has Services for Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and Kol Nidre. Congregation Beth Am has
a responsive blend of tradition, innovation, and mutual support. We value
intellectual life and provide education for children and adults as a means to growth
and to ensure Jewish continuity. Beth Am reaches out to work for peace, understanding, and social justice.
The Torah is read weekly at Shabbat morning services at the Fellowship Hall of
the First Unitarian Universalist Church. Services are held
every week at 10:00 am. Our synagogue hosts Friday evening Kabbalat Shabbat services
monthly. Times and dates for holiday and festival
services are announced in the Beth Am bulletin, or under Current Events and Bulletin. Children are
welcome at all services, either participating with their
parents or in our childcare area. Kiddush and conversation
follow every service.
Beth Am has religious classes for adults and children. Beth Am teaches Hebrew every Shabbat after services.
