Scholar-in-Residence: Rabbi Leila Gal Berner is a graduate of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College and holds a Ph.D. in Medieval Jewish History. Rabbi Berner is a trained spiritual director and serves as rabbi of Kol Ami: The Northern Virginia Reconstructionist Community. She is the founder and director of Lev Tahor: A Center for Jewish Soulwork and is a well-known liturgist and creator of new life-cycle rituals for Jewish women. Rabbi Berner's liturgy and commentary is published throughout JRF's Kol Haneshamah Reconstructionist prayer book series.
